Art Expression Classes at Messy Minds Studio

At Messy Minds Studio, we believe that every brushstroke, scribble, sculpture, or splash of color can open the door to connection, healing, and self-discovery. Our art expression classes are designed for all ages and ability levels, offering a safe, nonjudgmental space where individuals can explore feelings, reduce stress, and express their inner world through creative outlets. Each class is trauma-informed, sensory-considerate, and tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients.

Private Art Expression Sessions (Ages 6+)
These one-on-one sessions are deeply personalized to help individuals express emotions, reduce anxiety, and build confidence. Perfect for children, teens, and adults who may be navigating trauma, neurodiversity, or emotional dysregulation. Clients are gently guided through a variety of creative activities—drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, photography, and more—based on their personal comfort and interest.
- Duration: 1 hour
- Rate: $45 per session Adults - $35 per session Children/Seniors
- Package: 10-class commitment required (Plus supply fee, which is determinate upon the individualized curriculum)
- Location Options: In-home, instructor’s home, library, or field location (by arrangement)

Group Art Expression Classes
Our small-group art classes focus on creativity, social connection, and emotional expression in a supportive peer environment. Ideal for children, teens, or adults who benefit from structure but crave safe self-expression and positive reinforcement. Groups are separated by age and need.
- Activities Include: Collaborative art projects, guided reflection, group journaling, and open-ended expression
- Focus Areas: Communication, emotion regulation, peer bonding, and self-awareness
- Capacity: 3–6 participants per group
- Special Populations: Groups available for trauma survivors, neurodiverse youth, teens with anxiety, and more.

ESA Student Art Support
For students with Emotional Support Accommodations (ESA), art can be a bridge to emotional regulation, expression, and learning. These sessions are structured with sensory-friendly materials, calm pacing, and visual supports to help students succeed without pressure.
- Goals: Improve focus, self-expression, stress tolerance, and self-esteem
- Ideal For: Students with autism, ADHD, anxiety, or trauma-related symptoms
- Sessions: Offered individually or in small specialized groups

Senior Creativity Circles
A gentle, joy-filled art experience tailored for older adults. These sessions invite seniors to express memories, emotions, and creativity through painting, drawing, collage, and more. They also provide a space for connection, mental stimulation, and fun.
- Key Benefits: Cognitive engagement, fine motor stimulation, reduced loneliness, and creative joy
- Offered At: Private residences, senior centers, libraries, or caregiver-requested locations
- No prior art experience needed—just curiosity and heart

10-Week Domestic Violence Survivor Program
Held 2–4 times per year, this powerful program uses art to guide survivors of abuse through the stages of healing, rebuilding, and reclaiming their sense of self. Each week focuses on a different theme—such as boundaries, trust, fear, hope, and empowerment—and uses targeted art activities to process and reflect. The Art program follows along with "Rebuilding After Abuse" a book written by Jennifer Tweeten. Support Group Includes a Workbook and weekly Art Prompts.
- Format: Closed small group (5–8 participants), 1 session per week for 10 weeks
- Includes: Guided art projects, optional group sharing, personal journaling, and self-reflection
- Optional Add-ons: Workbook, survivor resources, and facilitator support for partnering organizations
